Introduction

Consider these two things before you run from bill collectors:

1. They are regular people.

2. Bill collecting is a profit making business

Even though bill collectors might not be the nicest people, and even though you might feel a little burdened because you are in debt, this is no reason to run from them.

If you are able to start a payment plan and with them, mailing out the checks that is one of the best methods. It's not always best to have them draw from your checking/savings account, that can cause you to overdraft if you are not careful.

As you are paying off the debt, make different attempts to settle at around half to 75% of your balance and see what they say. If they make an offer too high, then you give a counter offer until you agree. If you can't agree then you can always say call back next month.

Most importantly they have no right to harass you. If you harassed visit this link
